The meditators' brain  processes information more effectively, has the capacity to improve over-all health, promotes a state of calm, slow, stall or even reverses normal aging, positively change the part of the brain responsible for emotions and mitigates the body's pain response.  Monitoring mood, stress response, and reactivity to pain before, during and after daily meditation is a good way to enhance a more meaningful practice. Ongoing research continues to expand the potential benefits of meditation.  Meditation should not be used to replace your conventional medical care.  Meditation is an effective preventative and augmentative health care activity that should be utilized in concert with your health care providers.
